On June 4, 2016, Ysyakh festival, the traditional Yakut New Year festival, was held in the State Museum-Reserve "Kolomenskoe" in Moscow. Ysyakh is a symbol of the triumph of life and nature on earth. Theatrical show "Legend of the Olonkho Land" performed by the keepers of ancient traditions from the Churapchinsky ulus (Yakutia) turned out to be one of the main events of Ysyakh-2016.
An opening address was delivered to the guests and participants of Ysyakh in Moscow by Yuri Zabolev, Acting Permanent Representative of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic to the President of the Russian Federation.
The participants were also welcomed by Gennady Onishchenko, Adviser to the President of Russia; Vladimir Chernikov, Head of the Department of National Policy, Interregional Relations and Tourism of Moscow; Alexander Akimov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on the federal structure, regional policy, local government and Northern Affairs; Andrey Nogovitsyn, Head of Churapchinsky ulus, the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic.
Praskovya Borisova, Chairman of the Russian Mothers social movement in the regional department of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, spouse of the Head of the Republic, as well as many other distinguished guests: veterans, Yakutia cabinet ministers, State Duma members of the Russian Federation, heads of federal ministries and institutions, representatives of diplomatic missions, took part in the festival.
The festival was also attended by Ivan Menshikov, CEO of RNG, Nikolay Pinchuk, Managing Director, and Aleksandr Bondarenko, Chairman of the Strategy and Investments Committee under the Board of Directors.
