SuldyukarNefteGaz (part of the RNG Group of Companies) donated filters for water treatment plant in Suldyukar, which was most affected by water pollution in Irelyakh and Viluy rivers in Mirny district.
As soon as it became known about the plight in which the residents of Suldyukar were found, the SuldyukarNefteGaz management contacted the authorities of Myrny district and the village. It turned out that bottled drinking water had already been delivered to Suldyukar. But since it would be sufficient only for the first time, it was decided to take drastic measures and purchase the necessary equipment for the local water treatment plant.
The filters were delivered on September 28 by cargo aircraft IL-76 of the Alrosa airline from the Moscow airport Zhukovsky. For the water treatment plant, self-cleaning filters with programmable electronic systems were purchased. According to the experience of SuldyukarNefteGaz specialists, even with very polluted water, the life of these filters is 3 years.
Recall, the pollution of rivers in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) occurred on August 17. After the torrential rains at the dredging site of the Myrninsky Mining and Benefication Complex, dams broke through, because of this, a large amount of contaminated industrial water got into the rivers Irelyakh, Malaya Botuobuya, and then to Viluy. The first consequences of the disaster were felt by the inhabitants of Suldyukar, which is located 30 km from the mouth of Malaya Botuobuya. There are 200 people living in the village.
